As you early adopters know, Tweaker is in the App Store! If you are new to stocks and are looking for help to get you started, here are some tips!
Tweaker is the quickest and most powerful way to value stocks.
After signing in, start by selecting the “New Company” button.
If you are unsure of what stock to look for first, think of your favorite product- iPhone (AAPL) Netflix (NFLX), Nordstrom (JWN), or a stock news story you heard on a show like Mad Money or CNBC. Check if it is a publicly traded company by typing the company name or stock ID into the white box. Once your stock has been found by name or ticker symbol, select it. After selecting, choose “Tweak Now.”
Locate the two main tabs – “Growth Rate” and “Profit Margin”. Each has a Wall Street Consensus Range that is pre-populated in the box and represented on the chart above. These ranges are the reported consensus results computed from the opinions of Wall Street on the stock.
Looking at the chart, the blue line shows the stock price movement over the last year. The red and green lines are what we call “True Value Bars.” These will adjust to show you the range when a stock is “High Risk” (Sell shown in red) or “Balanced Risk” (Buy shown in green)” based on Wall Street consensus ranges or your own. You can leave Wall Street computed consensus as the values for your Tweak, or you can change the percentages to reflect your own values/views.
To create your own range – Tweak it! To Tweak a new range, adjust the True Value Bars by using “+” and “-” next to the “New Min” and “New Max” buttons. Then press “Apply”.
After adjusting the True Value Bars and hitting “Apply”, your Tweak will populate on the chart showing a new price range for the stock based on your estimate. If you like this range, and it accurately reflects your views/values, select “Submit” and your Tweak will be saved. Congratulations! You have submitted your first Tweak!
Keep in mind, Tweaker is crowd-sourcing stock intelligence – your Tweaks are important! The more you Tweak, the more accurate Tweaker becomes!
